San Diego St.rallies to beat San Francisco 57-56

Christopher Anderson scored nine points and the game-winning layup on Thursday night to help lead San Diego to a 57-56 comeback win against San Francisco in a West Coast Conference matchup.

The Toreros (8-7, 1-2) trailed 33-28 at halftime, but rallied to lead 44-43 in the second half on a layup by Vasa Pusica. Chris Scarbaugh made a layup amid a 7-0 run and the Toreros led 55-51, then Anderson hit his layup with 25 seconds left.

Mark Tollefson pulled the Dons within 57-56 with a free throw with 13 seconds left. USF had a final possession before Anderson stole the ball.

Duda Sanadze and Pusica each scored eight points off the bench. San Diego’s bench outscored USF’s 30-15. The Toreros made 5 of 18 3-pointers to 4 of 12 for USF, but were outrebounded 38-30.

Tollefson led the Dons (7-8, 1-2) with 14 points and Matt Glover had 11.
