DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) — Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Cody Asche has been scratched from the starting lineup against Toronto because of back tightness.

Asche, who is batting .238 with three homers and seven RBIs in 16 games this spring training, said he felt his back stiffen while he stretched during morning workouts Thursday. He opted to sit as a precaution.

Andres Blanco replaced Asche in the lineup.
