TRIO OF UMKC WOMEN’S GOLFERS EARN WGCA ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLAR RECOGNITION

Three UMKC women’s golfers were named Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars, it was announced Tuesday. Abbey Campbell (Garden City, Kan.), Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) and Chandler Gallagher (Kansas City, Mo.) all earned the recognition.

“The ladies on our team are dedicated to success both on and off the course, and their success in the classroom is a testament to the importance that an education plays in their collegiate career,” head coach Brianna Broderick said. “For Abbey, Cynthia and Chandler to earn this honor while representing Kansas City’s team is a true honor, and one that makes me proud to coach them and every ’Roo on our team.”

The criteria for selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5. A total of 828 women’s collegiate golfers earned a spot on the team.
