Cascade Sports Presents: Coach Marquis Lewis Head Women’s Basketball Coach for Virginia University A Beacon of Excellence in HBCU Basketball. Coach Lewis, a native of Asbury Park, NJ, brings a wealth of experience to his new role as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach for Virginia University (VUL) for the 2024-2025 season. He played college basketball at Georgian Court University and graduated from Centenary University in 2019 with a BA in Individualized Studies, Sports Management, and Psychology.
With an extensive 11-year coaching career across various NCAA programs from Division 3 to Division 1, Coach Lewis has most recently made a significant impact at Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA. He served as the Women’s Varsity Assistant Coach, Women’s JV Head Coach, and Men’s JV Head Coach. Under his leadership, the Harcum Bears achieved historic success, including:
• 58-11 Overall Record in Two Seasons
• 2022-2023: 30-4 record, NJCAA National Tournament Final Four finish, #4th ranked WBB Juco in the country
• 2023-2024: 27-5 record, NJCAA National Tournament Elite Eight finish, #8th ranked WBB Juco in the country
• Developed 5 Region 19 All-Americans and 2 NJCAA National Tourney All-Americans
• Every 2022-2024 graduate committed to D1-D3 programs
Coach Lewis is poised to bring his expertise and passion for basketball to VUL, aiming to build on his impressive track record of developing talent and achieving excellence.
