Bob Kendrick invites you to the public viewing of Coach Don B Motley at the NLBM

The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) mourns the death of its longtime former Executive Director, Don B. Motley. Motley, a founding member of the NLBM, began his association with the organization as a volunteer in 1990 and became Executive Director in 1991. He served in that role until his retirement in 2008.

Coach Motley, as he was affectionately known, gave nearly two decades of his illustrious life to help build the NLBM and guided it to unprecedented fiscal heights. His impact on the organization will be felt for generations to come. He will be missed by his museum family, the Kansas City community and a legion of men he coached, mentored and provided opportunities to “play ball.”
