Cascade Sports recently interviewed Brandon Plummer, assistant coach at Elizabeth City State University, after a highly successful head-coaching run with the Maury High boy’s basketball program.
Plummer led the Commodores to four state tournaments, including a Class 5 championship in 2019 and runner-up honors in 2022. Over six seasons, he guided Maury to a remarkable 131-23 record, with his teams qualifying for a region tournament every year and winning two region titles. His coaching excellence earned him multiple accolades, including state Coach of the Year, region Coach of the Year twice, and Eastern District Coach of the Year three times.
“Coaching at Maury has been incredibly rewarding,” Plummer shared. “Being able to work with such great talent and dedicated athletes was a privilege. I am truly blessed to have been able to make a difference in the lives of young athletes and be a part of something truly special. I love my school.”
