LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Jared Brownridge scored 27 points and Brandon Clark added 23 and Santa Clara beat Rider 68-60 Sunday in the seventh-place game at the Orlando Classic.
Brownridge had 21 of his points during the second half. Clark scored 58 points over three tournament games in which Santa Clara (3-4) won one of three.
Rider (2-5) got 18 points from Jimmie Taylor. The Broncs lost all three of their tourney games.
Clark had nine points, including a layup with two seconds remaining, as Santa Clara took a 26-24 halftime lead.
Rider got within 49-48 with 7 1-2 minutes to play on Taylor’s long-range jumper. Matt Lopez’s basket cut the Rider deficit to 59-57 with 90 seconds left.
Clark hit two free throws and Brownridge had a 3-point play during the final 61 seconds.
