Week 5 was a great week for some of the top athletes in the Wichita area. Avery Johnson, the #2 ranked Dual-threat QB in the country; led the Maize Eagles with 4 Touchdowns in a huge victory versus their previously undefeated rivals, Maize South. Junior running back, Daeshaun Carter had an additional 3 TD’s for the Eagles. This sets up a showdown in the state of Kansas in week 6; with last year’s state champion, the Derby Panthers. The Panthers are undefeated and led by the state’s most explosive player, Dylan Edwards; who has been dominant every time he’s touched the field this season. It’ll be a matchup with 2 of the most decorated recruits in Kansas; it’s set up to be fireworks this upcoming Friday night.
